Use orange zest to add bright orange color and fragrant orange flavor to
cheesecake, coffee cake, muffins, cookies, scones … even potpourri. Try
adding a teaspoon of dry orange zest granules to your favorite beef and duck
marinades.
Our orange zest is dehydrated for convenient storage and use. 1/4 teaspoon
of dry orange zest granules is equivalent to one full teaspoon of fresh orange
peel or orange zest. A large orange will normally yield about 2
tablespoons of fresh zest.
If you are using our zest in baking or in a dish that will be cooked for more
than a few minutes after the zest is added then the zest can be added
dry. Otherwise, soak the dry zest in lukewarm water for 15-30 minutes
before use to re-hydrate.
