loganberries
|
The loganberry was accidently cultivated in 1883 when two varieities of
blackberry were planted next to a raspberry bush. The first commercial use
of the loganberry was by the British navy in the early 20th century.
Loganberries are naturally high in vitamin C and replaced limes as a
preventative to scurvy.
Today loganberries are used in jellies, jams and preserves and as an ingredient
in pies, fruit syrups and country wines. faerie's finest loganberry flavor
