- Combine sugar and water in a medium saucepan.
- Bring to boil, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Remove mixture from heat and let cool at least 30 minutes.
- Add the maple extract and stir well.
- Store tightly covered in the refrigerator.
