homemade root beer

featuring faerie's natural root beer flavor

1 tbsp faerie's natural root beer flavor
1¼ cup sugar
1 pint (16 oz) filtered water
1 tsp faerie's natural vanilla extract (optional)

  • Make a simple syrup by dissolving the sugar into the water.  Shake well.
  • Add the root beer flavor to the syrup and mix well.
  • For richer flavor, add the vanilla extract to the mixture.
  • Chill the root beer syrup in the refrigerator.

  • To make root beer, add 3 ounces of the chilled syrup to a chilled pint container.
  • Add sufficient carbonated water to fill the container.
  • Mix by gently rocking bottle about 4 times.
